At 6:42 a.m. Dec. 23, a resident on Fairview Avenue said he watched from his kitchen window as an unknown white man wearing a gray parka attempted to open the doors to his two vehicles — a Ford Fusion and a Jeep Liberty, police said.

After the suspect couldn’t get into the locked vehicles, he walked out of the driveway and headed west on Fairview Avenue, police said.

Officers canvassed the area but did not locate the suspect, police said. During the search of the neighborhood, officers found numerous unlocked vehicles, however, none seemed to have been rummaged through, police said.

On Christmas Eve, a homeowner on Joseph Street said someone entered his son's 2008 Jeep Wrangler, police said.

The resident said the Jeep was left unlocked vehicle in the driveway at about 2:15 a.m., police said. At 8:15 a.m., the resident saw that the Jeep's left rear door was open, police said. The center console and the glovebox had been rummaged through, but nothing was reported missing, police said.
